Security Cameras - The Scoop On Hidden Video Cameras

Security Cameras - Expert Advice On Hidden Video Cameras

Remember when James Bond had a hidden video camera in his pen? Remember how awesome that seemed? Well, these devices are no longer just the toys of Hollywood or the very rich. Now, even a person on minimum wage can afford a video camera that can fit almost anywhere and is capable of delivering high quality images.

Security cameras are not just to record a crime in progress. Maybe you have a cat that makes a mess of your flower beds, you know its the neighbor's, but she refuses to admit it. A video of kitty doing its thing cannot be dismissed. Maybe someone has been lurking around and you want a permanent record of this person, whether you think its a burglar checking things out or someone stalking you or a loved one. The police just love a video recording. It saves them all kinds of trouble.

The business environment is really tough right now. Profits are slim or not there at all. If you own your own business, you cannot afford employee theft. One well placed hidden security camera can end all that. An excellent example is someone I know. He owns a liquor store. A lot of stock was disappearing. Try as he might, he couldn't find where it was all going and who was doing it. One day, he installed a hidden video camera in the exit sign above the rear door. That day, he caught the janitor taking some bottles out in a garbage bag. End of theft.

The hidden security cameras that are mentioned above use a device called an sv card. What this means is that these devices are not only wireless, but they don't need a central receiver. The videos are stored on the machine itself. Whenever you want, you take the camera to your computer or bring a laptop to it, download the images and you can examine the evidence at your leisure. Simple, cheap and extremely effective. What's really neat is that many of these cameras have motion sensors built in so that they will only record when they sense movement. You can even adjust the field of view so that critters or little kids won't trigger the camera.

Hidden video cameras are incredibly flexible. These are just two examples of their features.

Probably the greatest feature of these devices is that you don't have to worry about placing them where a radio signal can get through to a central receiver of some sort. Locate it, hide it, plug and play. Kids and pets can be programmed out.

These cameras can be hidden in any number of ingenious ways. Inside a floodlight, an exit sign, wall clock, coffee maker and so forth. It sets your imagination to racing, doesn't it?

As incredible as these devices are, bear in mind that they never stopped one crime. They only gather evidence that can't be argued away. To actually prevent crime, you want to install highly visible cameras. How to do this effectively will be the subject of the next article.
