Selling Your Photographs Online - Basic Tips

You don't have to be an experienced photographer, or someone who knows how to sell stuff online, to make money from your photographs. But you do need time and motivation to learn new things. You can sell your photographs on your own, and that's nice, you're in control. But in that case you'll need to have a site and be able to accept payments. This is not that difficult, nor expensive. However, the main challenge is that you'll have to promote your site, and actively search for buyers. This is definitely not easy. But, there's another option.

You can let other people - an experienced marketing professionals - do all the work for you. Not exclusively you of course. You'll have to compete with other photographers. So who are these marketing professionals? Online photo agencies, of course. Photo libraries or agencies promote and sell photographs taken by both pros and amateurs, for a commission. So, you can focus on what you like to do, taking photos, while they promote your images to thousands of potential buyers and accept payment on your behalf.

This option is better if you want to save money, as joining these agencies is free of charge. You don't even need to have a large portfolio, as your photos will be reviewed individually and then accepted or rejected, also individually. All you need to do is to visit some of these sites and see what types of photos are best-sellers. Then, be original and create something similar but unique. Don't just copy other photographer's work.
