Set Your Computer To Automatic Clean
1.Defrag your PC. This should always be your first step Your PC stores files in places on your hard drive, as programs are become extended and new files get created over deleted ones. This process is file fragmentation. Defraging your computer makes it easier for your computer to find what it needs faster. To run defrag go to Start - Control Panel - System and Maintenance - click 'Rearrange items on your hard disk to make programs run faster'. 2. Disk Cleanup is almost just like the defrag. This Windows application will clear out old and unused files, saving your disk space for the programs you use regularly. You may have documents that you used several years ago and have gone competely dormant now. This will help to get rid of those. To clear your old and unnecessary files, go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup and select the files you want to remove. 3. Checking For Viruses is essential. Sometime a slow computer is the result of a virus or malware attack. This spyware (malware) is used by thieves to steal personal information about you directly off your computer. Check if Windows firewall is turned on. Start - Control Panel - Network and Internet Connections - Windows Firewall. 4. Automate You can automate nearly any of these functions and programs that Windows offers. But, you will first need to create a batch file for yourself. A batch file is basically like a to-do list that you set up for your computer to follow. 5. Creating a Batch File Open notepad by clicking Start - Programs - Accessories - Notepad. Enter the text that appears below, but first, we need to save the notepad so your computer knows it's a Batch File to automate your Defrag, Disk Cleanup and virus checker. Save the file in a place where you can easily find it like your documents. Select File - Save As. What you will need to do is choose a file name, a file location (documents) and then safe the file under thee extension called: [.bat ] For Auto Defrag: Enter the following text into your Batch File: "defrag:c" For Auto Disk Cleanup: Enter this text "cleanmgr /sagerun:1" 7. Auto Virus Check This comes standard with nearly every virus removal software out there and is normally automatically on when you purchase it. So, go out and find your self a good one I suggest Symantec. 8.Clean Your Registry One more very useful thing you could use to make your computer way faster is a registry cleaner. Cleaning old files out of your registry is like polishing dust of off the books in you library. It makes for quik and easy finding and reading of the info.
