Setting Up A Complete Marketing Campaign
I can bet I know what types of marketing you’re going to be looking at. Odds are good the well worn staples of the marketing world like brochures and posters are popping into your mind. You’re probably looking around at what others are doing, what type of advertising material they’re sending out, and figuring out what you can make use of for your business as well. Of course this is going to be your focus, because this is the most visual part of marketing, and what you’re likely to see the most of. But is this all you need to be thinking about? I don’t want to specifically add any additional stress onto an already stressful event, but I do think I should mention some other aspects of your marketing that you’ll probably want to take some time to look at. Marketing is both the big and the small forms of advertising. It has to do with what I would call direct and indirect marketing. The direct marketing is what I’ve already been mentioning, and these things are going to try to push your company and be highly visible in how they market to people. The indirect marketing includes letterhead printing, it includes the envelopes you send out, and all sorts of other little ways to increase the exposure your company gets. Yes, letterhead printing is just as much a part of marketing as posters or postcards are. Just because it doesn’t actively market, you still need to consider it when forming your overall marketing push, and be sure that you keep on top of it. What I would do is sit down at the very beginning of your marketing and make a checklist of everything you’re going to want to do. This should include the major forms of marketing along with all of the little things. Search online if you need to in order to find out what all of this is, or ask someone who is well versed in the world of marketing. After all, because letterheads aren’t as visible you might not think about them, and therefore you might accidentally leave them off your list. Once you have this list together you can start going through what matters most to you, along with what everything is going to cost. This is where the indirect marketing becomes so important. Because it costs so little you can get a lot of it done to supplement your larger marketing pushes. This is very important for those without a lot of money to spend. Make sure for your first step into marketing you know exactly what the playing field is like, and you know what options are open to you so nothing gets left out.
