Setting Up A Shoutcast Using Ssh

Hi,

Ok, load up your ssh client, for example PuTTY.

Then go into the folder you want to use for your shoutcasts and run this command

wget http://www.shoutcast.com/downloads/sc1-9-2/shoutcast-1-9-2-linux-glibc6.tar.gz

Then use this

tar -zxvf shoutcast-1-9-2-linux-glibc6.tar.gz

Then

rm -rf shoutcast-1-9-2-linux-glibc6.tar.gz

Then

mv shoutcast-1-9-2-linux-glibc6 shoutcast(Port)

Adding the port to the end of that is optional, it will move the files to a folder called shoutcast, then if you decide to put port on the end, it will keep the server more organised.

Now

cd shoutcast(port)

Then

nano sc_serv.conf

And edit all the fields, detailed instructions are avaliable in the file.

Save the file, and then type

./sc_serv sc_serv.conf

To start your server.

You can then check http://(IP):(PORT) for your server.
