Seven Business Models That Help You Fire Your Boss

You are different than the others. Your friends and colleagues want to get a raise, get a better job or grow in their career. But you are not like them. You can't care less about growing in your career. You don't want to work for someone else - you want to be your own boss! Otherwise you wouldn't be reading this, would you?

So how can you do it? Go out, take a second mortgage and risk everything so you can open a bar? Unlikely. I have some less risky options to introduce you. Here are seven low risk business models that can help you fire your boss and be free.

1. Freelancing
If you are an expert in your field, chances are you can earn more by selling your skills to customers rather than to your boss. Freelancing is very suitable for people in the IT business, creative fields, accounting, architecture, business analysis and many more - in fact almost all professions that use the brain more than the hands can be freelanced.

Freelancing is a low risk business model, because you can start doing it as a side business until you ensure you can earn enough to quit your job.

2. Blogging
Blogging is getting more popular every day. Literally thousands of people make living online by professional blogging. The success in problogging does not come easy, but it is also a business that can be started in your free time and grow from there.

Blogging also has the advantage that it can grow into a bigger business or turn into semi-passive income in case your blog posts are not event-related.

3. Vending machine business
Before you start thinking that I am going to speak only about online money making opportunities, here is a "real world" one - vending machine business. The vending machines require small investment and a little work on your side, but once set up they are almost passive income generators.

Just like the previous two options, you can start with your first vending machine while keeping your work.

4. "Get Paid To" Business
Here is another online business opportunity. This one will not make you rich, but is absolutely risk free and can be done along with full time or part time jobs.

"Get paid to" means to get paid to read emails, fill surveys, click on links, type forms, browse sites etc. Just search the Web for "get paid to" and you will find loads of information.

5. Virtual Office Assistance
This opportunity is also gaining popularity because many small companies choose not to have a brink and mortar office. Instead they use virtual offices and need assistants for them.

You can get a job as a virtual office assistant online and work from home in your own hours and without really having a boss. Doing that you can usually make $10 - $20 per hour, but some companies give you the opportunity to make much more if you put the effort and eventually take some certification.

6. affiliate marketing
Yet another typical "make money online" opportunity. Affiliate marketing is a business in which you promote various products and services and get a nice cut from the profits. Affiliate marketing sometimes goes together with professional blogging, but writing a blog is not the only way to earn affiliate money.

This is another thing you can do as a side business until it grow enough. Have in mind that affiliate marketing has a steep learning curve and a lot of competition.

7. drop ship business
drop ship wholesale is a nice business model in which you sell real world products without keeping them in stock and without doing any shipping yourself. All you have to do is to sell the products to the customers, then submit the orders to the merchant who actually ships them.

Many people make money by drop shipping using their own e-commerce websites or just by placing auctions on ebay. All they do is to promote their websites or auctions and collect the profits.
