Should I Buy An Ordinary Bicycle Or An Electric Bike?

A bicycle is a simple and cheap vehicle. It helps you to commute from one location to another destination without any cost involved. When you decided to buy your first bicycle, there were a wide variety of brands and models for your consideration. The bicycle shop personnel might also propose another alternative to you - buying an electric bike.

So how to decide whether you should buy an ordinary bicycle or an electric bike? What are the main criteria we need to consider before we make our purchase decision? I would say the first thing you need to think about is your own budget. The price for an ordinary bicycle range from hundred to few hundred dollars. As for electric bike, their price is much higher than the ordinary one. It could be from few hundred to few thousand of dollars.

What is your main purpose of buying a bicycle? If it is for leisure & fitness purpose, an ordinary bicycle will be fine for you. You could ride it for exercise and work out to maintain your body fitness. But if you are looking for a bike to commute to work, I would say an electric bicycle is more ideal. This is because an electric bike is easier to operate, more convenience on the road and it is faster. I am sure you prefer a faster vehicle in order not to late for work, right?

Another thing to consider is the weight of the bicycle itself. In general, electric bicycle weight more if compare to ordinary bike. They also built with a motor and battery attached. If you dislike heavy or bulky vehicle, electric bike might not be your cup of tea. You should just buy an ordinary bicycle.

Whether it is an ordinary or electric bike, I am sure once you get one for yourself, you will enjoy the ride on the road with a smile on you face. Bicycling is just simply a fun exercise!
