Before you make a web page or website, it would be helpful to review the factors involved, such as your purpose for the site, your competence level in making it, the cost of hosting, and the time demand to maintain it. There are places on the web where you can have your website for free, but it's helpful to remember that you get what you pay for. Be careful that your free website would not incur charges if you exceed a certain traffic or space limit. You would likely be required to pay for your free web page with advertising being placed on your web pages. Look into the reputation of your potential web host and their durability. It's easy to believe the hype of a Johnny-come-lately and find that same company disappear in a flash. If you truly anticipate your website to have a long life, do your homework and find a reputable host. Most people would not consider hiring a professional for their simple web page or website. It would likely be easier to learn the coding along the way or use freeware programs that feature a 'What-you-see-is-what-you-get' editor that wouldn't require a knowledge of code. If you want to go beyond a simple web page that says, "This is who I am, and here's what I do.", the complexity may be beyond a beginner's ability. Would you want training or a designer's help?
