When you are in or around a college campus you are likely going to see a lot of Greek clothes. These clothes are generally worn by those that have pledged a sorority or fraternity and are proud of their association with such a group. Not everyone belongs to these organizations, and those that do usually have to uphold certain academic qualifications to continue to belong. The result is that people are very proud to let others know about their affiliation with their specific Greek organization.
These clothes are usually very understated but very obvious at the same time. Usually there is just a shirt, sweatshirt, jackets, or sweatpants that have the Greek letters that are association with the group. These letters are often seen in blue, green, red, or black, though there are some exceptions to this generalization. Members from those that are alumni to those that are currently active will often wear this gear with pride.
You may see that there are a lot more of these types of clothes during what is known as "rush week" which is when members are trying to get new recruits to pledge their group or become members. For these members, wearing Greek shirts is a way to market their fraternity or sorority. It will get other students thinking about that specific group and they will know that they can go to the individuals who are wearing this gear for more information. The Greek groups are very proud and use their gear not only as a way to market but as a way to identify one another, as there is a unique form of camaraderie between those involved.
The great thing about sorority clothes and the like is that they can be worn just about anywhere. In many instances they are just worn around campus, to classes, as sleepwear, and more. You can do just about anything in these clothes because they come in a variety of different styles. While a lot of the fraternity and sorority clothes are very casual, there are many different things that you can incorporate into your everyday where such as jackets, lanyards, and pins.
Where can you get your Greek affiliated clothing? Most of the time you can get it through the sorority or fraternity that you are affiliated with, but you may also find that there are a lot of online outlets that will be able to hook you up with what you are looking for. For the nation wide sororities and fraternities you can often find the clothing in a lot of different places, which may give you a lot of different options. If you buy a few things you will find that you can somehow incorporate your Greek pride into your everyday wear!
