A great brochure printing strategy is no secret formula, rather a combination of tried and tested ways of various parameters. 1. What’s your print size – The inaccurate set up size of the brochure is the most common errors people make while designing brochures by their own. For example, a printing layout of 8.5 x 11 is not a good proposition for printing brochures on 8 x 10 sized paper stocks. If the printing company needs to shrink or stretch the layout in order to accommodate to the disproportionate paper size, the quality of the design will be ruined and will be compromised.

2. Give enough room for print bleed – The print bleed is expanding the colour of the print beyond the edge of the paper. The bleed accounts for keeping up with the variations for cutting the brochure and keeping the desired look of the stationery intact. The blade cutting stationeries is usually accurate but might fluctuate a bit when it is cutting thousands of pieces. In that case, allowing enough room for the bleed is a safe bet to ensure the seamless appearance of the borders for each copy.

3. High resolution images are of high choices – The higher the better, otherwise your brochure is likely to look unprofessional. Low dpi (around 72 dpi) images look great on monitor but turn horrific on paper. These low dpi images even get pixilated or likely to be blurred reducing the visibility of the image. Select at least 300 dpi images for your printing project to increase the odds of letting your images convey the right presentation or message.
