Sleep Hypnosis - How To Use Hypnosis To Cure Your Insomnia
If you have trouble falling asleep then sleep hypnosis can be extremely useful.
It's natural and inexpensive and can get you over a "bump" in your life where everything seems to be conspiring to stop you from getting a good night's rest.
There's probably a root cause that is causing your insomnia, so once you've managed to sleep well for a few nights, it's worth investigating what is causing your insomnia.
Obviously you can't visit a hypnotist in person every evening, so you're going to need to make or purchase a self hypnosis track to make you sleepy.
There are free scripts available or you can create your own - start with a hypnotic induction that puts you into a restful state and begins to relax your body. Take several deep breaths to help this relaxation. Use a peaceful backing track behind the words - gentle music or natural sounds work well for this.
Next up, begin a countdown. You can use steps for this or you may prefer to use an elevator for the perception of less effort. With every step or floor down, you'll find yourself getting drowsier and your eyelids will feel heavy, causing your eyes to close. You may need to experiment with the pacing on this so that you manage to fall asleep before the end of the countdown.
Set any backing music track to gradually fade out after the words finish.
Then just play yourself the MP3 you've just created. Either on headphones or quietly on your CD player's speakers.
Oh, and remember to concentrate on falling asleep rather than continually asking yourself why you're still awake.
