Snow Mountain Brings Winter Fun To Atlanta
Visitors don’t need any special equipment or experience to have fun on the 400 foot tubing hill. There are two different runs to try out. Tube Runners has ten lanes for single riders. Avalanche Alley has three lanes for up to five riders at a time. Two hour tubing sessions must be reserved in advance, and all equipment is included in the price of admission. There are several winter play areas in the Snow Zone for guests of all ages to enjoy. Build a snowman in Snowman Valley. Accessories for a well dressed snowman, such as hats and scarves, can be found in the snow closet. Have fun exploring the Snow Fort with its tunnels, turrets, and mid-sized slides. In the Igloo City area, construct a fort, build a snow city, or dig some tunnels. Make some snowballs and test your aim at the Snowball Shooting Gallery. Launch the snowballs at spinning and moving targets. Even the youngest visitors have a special place to play in the snow. Children age three and under can have fun in the Little Angels area. Snoboggins on smaller snow hills are perfect for the little ones. The SnoDeck provides a place to take a break from the snow activities and purchase snacks and beverages. Then warm up by the bonfire at SnoFire Point, and roast marshmallows or make S’mores. Tickets to Snow Mountain provide unlimited access to the snow play areas and a two hour tubing session. Tickets for Snow Mountain are $27 plus tax. Reservation times must be made for the tubing session. There is an additional $10 parking fee for Stone Mountain Park. Combination tickets are available that include three additional Stone Mountain Park activities. Ride to the top of Stone Mountain on the Summit Skyride, enjoy Yogi Bear’s 4-D Adventure, and visit the Memorial Hall Museum to learn about the famous carving on the mountain. These $47 tickets also include a meal and beverage at the Marketplace Restaurant. Stone Mountain Park is located sixteen miles east of downtown Atlanta on US Hwy 78. Come out and have some winter fun at Atlanta’s only snow park.
