Sorting and Sifting Customers
"Without passion, you don't have energy; without energy, you have nothing. Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion.” Donald Trump

Sorting and sifting requires being professional by not begging for people to do business with you. Sort through people to attract the right customers! As you sort and sift through potential clients take into consideration the following demographics.

The 5 Demographic Groups are a cross section of 1,000 folks with different color hats on in one stadium.

The Risk Takers are 7% or 70 of the people and are wearing Red Hats. Risk Takers would be the first ones to purchase your product or service by deciding on the spot that what you have is right for them.

The Early Adopters are 25% or 250 of the folks wearing Blue Hats. Early Adopters would be the second ones to purchase your product or service, but not on the first visit. Early Adopters would come back to make their final decision.

The Early Majority are 25% or 250 of the folks wearing Green Hats. Early Majority would be the third ones to purchase your product or service, but not on the first, second and maybe not even the third visit. Early Majority would come back months later to make their final decision.

The Late Majority are 30% or 300 of the folks wearing Purple Hats. Late Majority are maybe’s. Don’t force them to do anything. Simply thank them for stopping by.

Traditionalists are 13% or 140 of the folks wearing Black Hats. These people will never buy from you so just thank them for stopping by.

Risk Takers are the pioneers and entrepreneurs who come in first, followed by the Early Adopters. These are your primary customers who know what they want.

Too bad the wind blew off all their hats.

If you are a Risk Taker you will attract other risk takers to your business, but you have to sort through the other four groups to find your customers. If you are an Early Adopter you will attract early adopters to your business. Now you know who you are looking for as a customer.
