Platinum Golf Tours has recently come to an agreement with Norwegian owners Anita and Jarle Gjerde to take over management of their 9-room 4-star Knysna Country House in Knysna, along the Garden Route, South Africa.

Platinum Golf Tours’ owners Erik Ekkelkamp and Ypie Kingma have been offering self-drive as well as guided golf tours throughout South Africa from their base in Knysna since 2006. Erik Ekkelkamp: ‘The guesthouse is ideally situated less than 2 minutes from the Knysna Golf Course and less than 5 minutes from well-known Pezula Championship Golf Course. We are very happy that we can now offer our clients the same personalized service they got used to with our tours when staying in the guesthouse.’

The Gjerde family is very excited with this opportunity to combine their marketing efforts in the Scandinavian market together with the expertise Erik and Ypie bring into the company. Erik and Ypie, being originally from The Netherlands, besides English also speak Dutch, German, and a few words of French and Russian. Ypie is a qualified tour guide, offering additional insights in the area which will only benefit the guests.

The Knysna Country House has been graded 4 stars, with great views over the Knysna Lagoon, town and the Outeniqua Mountains in the distance. Three Standard Rooms, 4 Luxury Rooms, a standalone thatched Luxury Garden Cottage and a Family Unit with 2 bedrooms offer a variety of accommodation options suitable for different budgets.
The Knysna Country House further offers a big salt-water swimming pool, wireless internet and secure off-street parking. All nine rooms have bathroom en-suite, minibar, satellite tv, hairdryers, safes, coffee- and teamaking station etc.

Golf packages, family break-aways as well as day tours and (airport) transfers are available upon request.
