Southampton Set For Cunard's World Class Liner
Speculation is rife over Cunard Cruises new ship which incorporates 16 decks into an extravagant liner holding more than 2,000 passengers. Bearing a name, which two previous ships have taken, both of which were icons of Britain, the first Queen Elizabeth bearing troops back and forth in World War II and QE2 in the Falklands, she has much to live up to. However, unlike her former ships which bore traditional design, those on cruise holidays aboard the Queen Elizabeth will experience the style of the Art Deco period. With a high level of anticipation, the Queen Elizabeth's inaugural sailing was sold out in 29 minutes, with enthusiasts keen to grab the first look of this world class ship. Those lucky enough to gain a ticket can expect sweeping staircases, marble floors and hand carved wooden panelling amongst the décor. A grand library offers ample reading, whilst a Kew inspired conservatory will wow those who enjoy the greener outdoors. Meanwhile bars, restaurants, nightclub, three swimming pools and a multitude of other activities will provide varied entertainment. And whilst Cunard's bid to initiate a golden age of cruising has yet to materialise, in less than two months the Queen Elizabeth will be cruising the seas.
