Sportsmen Fought For Our Fishing Rights

We're not sure how many anglers out there know how close our fishing rights recently came to being hammered and lowered. Animal rights groups/EPA were pushing for all lead fishing tackle to be permanently banned forever. If that bill would've passed it would've done substantial damage to many industries, people and anglers that rely on lead fishing tackle to survive for their lively hood. It would've been like a stack of dominoes falling down.

Anglers, hunters and sportsmen wouldn't stand for it though and thousands upon thousands of sportsmen fought back to protect our rights. It was an awesome sight to see so many people who all have the same love and interests to fight for something that's very important to us.

One thing I know for sure and that's that sportsmen will never give up and will never stop fighting for their rights to hunt and fish in America's beautiful outdoors. For sportsmen fishing and hunting is more of a lifestyle or religion than just a mere hobby like playing video games or going to the movies. Sportsmen dedicate hundreds of hours and spend thousands of dollars every year to the sport they love. There's not too many other hobbies out there that can say that.

Sportsmen are also good, down to earth people. There's been many studies conducted that show kids who fish and hunt are healthier and less likely to ever touch or take drugs. The outdoors become such a passion for kids as well as adults it's all sportsmen think about which leaves little time for self-destructing habits.

Spring is around the corner which means more fishing and hunting for us sportsmen.
