Spot Those Children Yeast Infection Symptoms

As adults we know the signs when we are experiencing a Candida overgrowth, but what about our kids? Once they are out of diapers it is more difficult to monitor what is physically going on with them so we need to be aware of certain children yeast infection symptoms.

First up though, lets take a quick look at some children yeast infection causes.

By around 3 years of age the anti-bodies that you gave to your child are starting to wane and his own immunity is beginning to develop. This means that he becomes more susceptible to the bugs that are floating around - I bet you noticed a drop in his overall health around this time. As a coincidence this is also the age that many kids start preschool or day care, so a whole new batch of bacteria are being introduced into their fragile systems.

As a result of this they may also suffer from certain fungal infections as their immune system struggles to maintain the balance of good and bad bacteria within them.

This may continue until their immunity is fully developed, usually by around puberty. This is all a natural process and the exposure to small amounts of these bugs actually help them to develop a strong immune system.

Children Yeast Infection Symptoms
As with adults, rashes, itching and burning are the first signs of Candida in children. Rashes are relatively easy to spot, but also be aware that they may have itching or burning sensations that they do not know how to tell you about. Sometimes the only sign is that they do not want to go to the toilet or they have their hands down their pants or hold onto their crotch a lot. Sometimes the only sign of a yeast infection is that they are grumpier than usual!

In many cases children can have children yeast infection symptoms in more than one area, so if you notice an infection in their toes you can begin to do a systematic check of other areas that may have been affected.

Other symptoms to look out for are;
An oral infection is indicated by white spots in the mouth, a white coating on the tongue, but the first sign that you may notice is that your child has really bad breath.
If they seem to be overly interested in their toes or constantly itching them then have a quick look. Chances are that you will find the beginnings of Athletes Foot.

Treating Children Yeast Infection Symptoms
All of the usually recommended remedies are fine. The most effective include;
Tea Tree Oil - make sure that it is very well diluted!
Colloidal Silver - my favorite cure-all! Just spray onto the affected area.
Yogurt - make sure that it is unsweetened and natural
Crushed or grated fresh garlic
Cider vinegar or diluted white vinegar

These are all brilliant for treating the children yeast infection symptoms, but to really ensure that your kids make a full recovery you need to address the cause and work on preventing an outbreak in the first place.

Preventing a yeast infection in youngsters is difficult, especially from a hygiene perspective. While they do not understand the importance of wiping themselves properly, changing their undies regularly, eating a balanced diet, or the fact that having probiotics on their breakfast is actually really good for them, it is important to persevere so that eventually they do have an understanding hopefully without experiencing the full effects of Candida.
