Spring Cleaning Fulfilled In Five Easy Steps

First impressions are everything when it comes to stepping foot into a place of business. Nobody wants to walk into an establishment that is filled with clutter and has the appearance of disorganization. This can give the appearance that the company and doesn't have things together. It may be time to start spring cleaning, in order to establish a sense of pride in employees when it comes to the workplace.

One step can begin with cleaning windows that have been shut all winter long. This usually results in the build up of stale odors that many individuals have gotten accustomed to smelling. Open up windows and doors to let homes air out for about an hour. Clean surfaces with a cloth to get rid of dust that has lingered during the winter months.

Secondly, find out the reasons to why this area is always disorganized. Living with messy people is not the only reason. Usually there's another culprit. For example, shoes usually end up by the door way because sometimes there's not enough closet space.

Now it's time to come up with solutions. This is deciding what tools or processes are needed to make the mess disappear. Many problems that are encountered can be fixed by having the right tools, and changing the behavior. For example, if books are found laying around the house, maybe it's time to invest in shelves or magazine holders.

The final step is implementation. Get the tools in place that were noted previously. However, one must also start the behavior changes associated with the process. For example, if a member of the home sees a book laying on the kitchen table, put it on the shelf. Enlist every member of the families help in keeping processes and tools in place.

Family members should then be able to evaluate the process every day. It would be good to do it the same time each day. If it occurred before dinner, discuss it over dinner. Discuss the problems and successes. Also look at ways that the process can be done differently. Test frustration levels. When walking into the problem area, is there a feeling of peace beginning to develop, or a feeling of wanting to pull ones hair.

One may notice that they have much more work to do. If Rome was not built in a day, then don't expect the same thing for clearing out the clutter. It may be easier to take one room at a time to organize. It will also help the individual to feel like they've accomplished something when at least one room has been completed. Again, get the whole family involved. Everyone needs to benefit from the fruits of their labor!

Nobody likes to hear that it's time for spring cleaning. However, it can be fun and time to bond with family members. Pretty soon, instead of asking where something was placed, an individual may just be able to find it.
