Spyware Cleaner – Doctor Spyware - Free, Quick And Easy To Use.
The free spyware cleaner – Doctor Spyware- is a nice piece of anti spyware software and it’s completely free. It will detect and remove spyware, malware and adware that may be lurking on your hard drive.
As a free spyware cleaner this is one of the better ones; it is sleek and easy to use and can be run in real time so it also has blocking capabilities. Blocking capability is important as prevention is the best form of defence.
I actually tested Doctor Spyware’s free spyware cleaner and was impressed with the results, its ease of use and the scan speed; though speed is not top of my agenda as I prefer thorough.
It found everything I expected it to. I don’t get spyware anymore, just a few tracker cookies. But today I updated to Internet Explorer 7 and that created a few issues but the spyware cleaner found and dealt with them. Just an update from IE6 to IE7 and it already has issues, that’s really not clever and why I use firefox.
So the new spyware did a thorough job as a cleaner and located 9 items of spyware:
Some tracker cookies that I always get from messenger and MSN.
Toolbars from the Internet Explorer upgrade.
Download manager from Microsoft along with the obligatory persistence handler.
A few bits of adware that I’d allowed but stopped from running.
This may not have been much of a test but it was the best I could do. My own spyware cleaner finds the same small amount because the internet security I run is very tight and very little gets through.
I recommend Doctor Spyware as an effective free spyware cleaner with the emphasis on free. Because as good as it is you generally get what you pay for and there are better products out there at a very low and cost effective price.
This would be a good product to run alongside the current free version of Lavasoft Ad Aware, not at the same time though. If it’s as good a spyware cleaner as it looks (and it does look good) then it’ll be interesting to see how long it remains as a free product.
