Squeeze Page Success Rule #4: Traffic

Not all Visitors are Created Equal

Some of your squeeze page's success will be determined by the traffic you send to it. Web traffic in itself has become a huge business. Ever hear of a traffic exchange? Its only purpose for existing is to bring traffic to its users, unfortunately its low quality useless traffic.

You know who uses traffic exchanges? Other traffic exchanges. I'm convinced that's all who's getting good business on those. I say this because I've tried and after 10,000 hits and no sign ups it became clear that it was not working. Its not because I have a personal vendetta against them. If you honestly believe in them and honestly are getting results please email me I'd love to know what your doing special. You'll be the first person I've ever known to profit from them.

So don't go to traffic exchanges for your squeeze page traffic. Also don't do paid to click advertising (I'm talking about NeoBux type PTC, not to be confused with pay per click like Adwords). Those people are clicking for money and money alone. Your squeeze page has a better shot if you post it on a lamp post. Although I have had a few signups from them, but my product revolves around making more money from PTC's so it fits. Anything not about making money will have pretty much no one caring.

If you're offering some kind of money making business, PTC will be OK. Otherwise, don't waste your money. The last “don't” I'm going to talk about are the programs that offer tons of traffic from tons of networks and that traffic is all targeted and what not.

I've never been a part of one of these “networks” and I've never visited a page from them. I've never known anyone from these “networks.” So I'm very skeptical to believe these claims. I just know I'm not spending $40-$60 a month on something I've never seen or heard of before. If you try it, email me and let me know how it goes. I'm always happy to find things that actually work.

So now I'm really done with the squeeze page traffic don'ts. Here are some do's.

Do use methods that have gotten results. The one that worked first for me, and has worked best is article marketing. I never tried it because in the vast internet world who would read my article? Well you are aren't you?

Content is king on the internet. Its been that way since the first person put up a page trying to sell someone else something. Unlike all the other methods, content stays up and keeps bringing traffic. If you're going to be online long term shouldn't your marketing?

Blogs are another good way to get visitors. Of course with those you need to brush up on a little search engine optimization, though it doesn't hurt your articles either. The search engines love all the fresh new content in blogs. Though I've never kept one myself, they didn't explode for nothing. Content in about any form will get you quality traffic.

Ever hear of YouTube? Yeah, who hasn't. Yet another form of content, but instead of words its video. Again I thought “Who's going to watch my stupid video?” Well it turns out lots of people. My wife posted a video as a joke. Its me in my underwear giving myself a wedgie. I went “Yeah who's gonna watch that.” 127 views later I feel like an idiot.

So if a 127 people watched me dance around like an idiot, I'm know some actual good content will get some good views and traffic to your squeeze page.

The one thing you should take out of this is that content is going to get you much more than paying for traffic. Its going to stay up longer pulling more traffic and its free. Sure its work, but if you're honestly trying to build a business work won't scare you. So open up a page and start writing, it'll give you something to do while my video loads...I know some of you are going to go looking for it.
