St. Kitts' Frigate Bay Resort To Undergo Complete Refurbishment In May 2012
The final plans for the refurbishment works are currently being finalised and architectural surveys have already been completed to turn the hotel into one of the most stylish properties for luxury St Kitts holidays with added style. Work will commence in May this year and the resort will remain open for tourists taking holidays to St Kitts throughout the current peak season. "We are thrilled that one of our classic, well established hotels is taking the initiative to modernise and improve its product consistent with current market demands," explained Senator Ricky Skerritt, St Kitts and Nevis Minister of Tourism and International Transport. "This is particularly significant as we continue to grow the island's tourism infrastructure with several new world class resort developments currently underway." The renovations include upgraded public areas including new steps between the middle and the top level of the resort; tropical landscaping surrounding the swimming pool; and a refurbished conference room and front desk area. New balcony rails will be added to the guest rooms as well as brand new windows, doors, sliding glass doors, bathroom tiles, air conditioning units and kitchens. The decor and soft furnishings of the rooms and suites will feature soft Caribbean pastel shades, creating a warm and contemporary atmosphere for visitors. The architectural firm Elmes and Associates will be carrying out the renovations with Moorjani Ltd contractors, both of which are based on the island of St. Kitts.
