Stability & Front End Loaders
The following factors contribute to the stability of loaders: 1. Buy a machine with the lowest centre of gravity possible – i.e. the lowest one to the ground. Having high wheels lifts you off the ground, increasing your centre of gravity and actually really decreases your torque as well. 2. Buy a machine with a shorter mast to keep the centre of gravity of your load in closer to the ground. 3. Buy a machine as wide as possible. Also, if the tyres come out a long way past the loader, this again, makes the loader stable, having a very low centre of gravity 4. To really increase the stability (by lowering the centre of gravity) it is best to fill the tyres with water, this adds about 40 kg per tyre.
