Stained Glass Windows Brighten Any Home

This artist prefers not following another drumming. She makes up her own tune. Using stained glass and painting skills, a different art form was created by an artist from Pratt, Kansas. In fact, she has not found a name for it because it is so different.

She says she likes to be different; she doesn't want to do what everybody else does. She said she started to paint on stained glass because she was torn between both painting and doing stained glass work. She says that when she looks at a piece of glass, she knows of what she should do with it. That is what one should look for, but many do not realize it.

Images are present in the glass, you simply need to look for them. She carefully picks up pieces of stained glass from Hutchinson and Wichita. The different designs in the glass are sure to make a shroud over the face and a bullet hole in the chief's chest. To put the final touches to the painting, she drew facial features and a rustic background on the glass

She believes that the combination of painting and stained glass gives unique art and has not been used earlier. It is exciting to do this as no one has ever done it earlier.

At the back of her pet store, is a studio where she creates most pieces of art. She has the art and glass studio and a pet store as well. I've had the pets here for years, and the people expect me to keep them.

She juggles between her art classes at the Pratt Community College and the private lessons she offers on stained glass, art work and painting. He is the same Dutch guy, whom we see on television, holding a great big paintbrush - the size you would use to paint a house.

She learnt six different ways of making stained glass, then combined the easiest parts of each method, and has now invented her own method to teach others. Probably she will organize an exhibition in Wichita to showcase her stained glass paintings. In her exhibition, people will be able to choose a piece of glass that they see an image in or that appeal to them and then she will paint on it.

Careful not to give away all her trade secrets, she said she uses oil paint on stained glass to a certain extent, and other types of paints as a base. She thinks that it is with regards to their Cherokee connection, that she and her husband have such a deep interest in arts.

Common kitchen utensils such as knives and forks are used as tools by her silversmith husband. As a matter of fact, he has given beautiful pieces of jewelry to many famous country music entertainers. She says that the reason they like artwork so much is because of their Indian heritage.
