The past years, there was a noticeable “baby boom” in Hollywood. People started seeing baby pictures of famous celebrities all over the internet. Due to the lack of privacy most of these famous stars have, it was so easy for everyone to get glimpse of how they raise their children. Brangelina leads the pack with their constantly growing family. Regular mums may not have that much attention, but it would be great to treat them like stars during Mother’s Day. I think virtually everyone will agree that their mum will deserve star treatment once in a while. She may not have looked her best or she may not always be dressed to kill during her pregnancy, but she is your mum. After all, compared to celebrity mums, yours probably did not have any nanny helping.

Mother’s Day is a great day for pampering your own mum. That only happens once a year. It can be a special day when she will not have to cook or do household chores. For gift ideas, consider getting her a massage, facial treatment, spa treatment or a trip to the salon. I bet she rarely got to do those things as she tried to raise you. Most mums would rather buy something for their kid than actually buy something for themselves. This is why once a year, make her feel like a star! Make sure that she gets enough time, attention, rest and relaxation.

You can plan a whole day for her to simply rest and relax. Give her time to do things she never had time to do. Start off by giving her breakfast in bed. You can even make it an activity for two and try to look for something both of you will enjoy. Gifts for women can also be tickets to watch ballet, a chick flick or even a musical. If that’s a bit much, even small tokens of affection, a box of chocolate or flowers can do the trick. Any mum, even a celebrity mum, will appreciate practically anything their kid gives them. In her eyes, even your crude drawings were works of art worthy of displaying on the refrigerator. I’m sure she will appreciate all the presents you give her. If you can get the rest of the family to cooperate, you can even have a simple picnic in the backyard. One other thing that mums appreciate would be spending quality time with the family. This is even more important if your mum works like mine does.
