Starcraft Ii – Featured Units

It has been a while since Blizzard Entertainment has been working on Starcraft II, the sequel of award winning strategy video game, Starcraft. Video game fans have been very excited about the release of this sequel. To add to the anxiety, Blizzard has not officially announced the date of release of Starcraft II until now.

The three races – the rebel human Terrans, the noble Protoss, and the gruesome Zergs will resurrect themselves and will return on Starcraft 2. Blood will be spilled on the Koprulu Sector while the races battle against each other.

A large portion of the units will be returning; at the same time, upgrades and new units will also be introduced. The old heroes of Starcraft - Zeratul, Arcturus, Mengsk, Artanis, Sarah Kerrigan and Jim Raynor will make a comeback.
Let us have a peak at some of the awesome units in Starcraft 2!!!

The Dark Templar:
The Dark Templar is part of the nomadic Nerazim clan who are scattered across the universe in small ships and hidden enclaves. The extent of the power of the Nerazims is hard to predict because of the nature of their existance. In the new Starcraft, the protoss dark templar will be given a new looking. Players will be given a hand by Blizzard Entertainment to decide the model of the dark templar that will appear in the game.

The Banelings:
The Banelings are Zerg units. They are living bombs which can be compared with the military mines. These units are deadly both to structures and ground forces. In addition to this, Banelings have the ability to bury themselves and surface once the enemy units are already in the area. So, a seemingly calm area may turn into a complete deathtrap.

The Mutalisks:
These units form the primary air force of the zergs. The primary advantage of the mutalisks is their speed. It is said that they can traverse between stars and can afford a deep space flight because they can adapt to atmospheric differences. They attack by spelling glave wurm. Mutalisks normally circles the skies of the zergs and prevents the assault of other races especially when the mutalisks came in massive forces. However, mutalisks are vulnerable units and have very little strength against enemy forces.

The Hydralisk:
The hydralisks were once the meek caterpillar-like slothien who were transformed by the Overmind to be one of the fiercest and most atrocious killers of the clan. A hydralisk possesses 4,000 muscles that it uses to brutally put an end to the enemies. They attacked by releasing its spines to the enemies regardless if the enemy is in the air or on the ground. Like the baneling, the hydralisk can also bury itself while waiting for its prey.
