Starting A 90-day Plan? Free Advice To Make Sure You Succeed Where Others Have Quit!
Guaranteed...:( So how can we make sure you not only finish your 90 day plan but that you also both have fun and get the results you want? #1 Only do a few things at a time! When you're taking on a challenge to change, you want to make sure that you're not changing your whole life. Instead, you want to focus on changing one to two things at a time. Those aspects of your life that you focus on will have an effect on everything else and they will change your life for the better! When I do my 90 day challenges, I focus on three things at the most! Too many people make a "change-10-things" to-do list and quit after the third week because things get tough! Instead, prioritize what must be changed and focus on that #1 priority first. It can be your health (exercising), your wealth (building a business for yourself), relationships (going out and meeting new people for 90 days), or anything! Just be sure that you're focused! Remember, focus means "Follow One Course Until Successful!" =) And by "successful" we mean that you've accomplished your objective: to change in 90 days. The reason being is that you're breaking your comfortable lifestyle and your subconscious doesn't like that (it likes stability so change is not on its agenda no matter how much you want it;-) So to make sure your subconscious is okay with the change, focus on one thing at a time. #2 Reward yourself at certain steps! To make sure I finish a program, I set up a tangible reward for completing the challenge (very important) and the objectives along the way. For example, If I'm doing a 12-week program like the P90x or the 'Body For Life', I'm going to give myself something at the 4-week, 8-week, and 12-week mark (even though they promise rewards for me like abs to die for!);-) My reward could be a simple walk in my favorite park that I've never given myself time for lately. It could be a new DVD that I haven't seen yet but wanted to see. The reward can be as big or as small as you'd like. Just make sure that it's worthwhile and that it doesn't steer you off-course of course!;-) #3 Give yourself a valid 'out'! Give yourself a number of days (10 days) of trying the challenge. If you find out that the 90 day plan is not for you at this time, then cancel it and try again later! It's okay to quit a program. Just be sure to try it out for a few days 'first' so that if you're quitting, you're quitting on your terms and not because it got too difficult (which is why most people quit.):( You see, if you quit just because it's hard then you're training yourself to give in every time something gets hard. That's going to kill any chances you have at successfully completing a program because sooner or later things do get tough (hence the term 'challenge!);-) On the other hand, if you're quitting on your terms, you're training yourself to listen to what you want! If you want to continue, then continue. If you want to quit, then quit. In any case, your subconscious will learn to listen to your conscious self, and will thus give you more control over what happens in all the 30/60/90 day plans you take on in your life. So there you have it!:) I implore that you follow these steps the next time you're doing a 90 day plan. I do and now I'm able to make my own challenges! Having the groundwork set for success is a sure-fire way to make sure you accomplish your goals. Again, "Failing to plan is planning to fail" so take the time to do it right, and you will succeed (Just be sure to send me a 'thank you' e-letter!):D Dan Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com Dan is the founder of SelfImprovedMe.
