'stay Safe' On Short Ski Holidays
In a list of top tips compiled by Tesco, skiers are urged to get fit before travelling. Those over 25 are far more likely to sustain an injury than younger people and this can be attributed to poor levels of fitness, the organisation claimed. Buying skis from a reputable shop and checking equipment thoroughly before travelling is also recommended, as well as wearing knee and back protectors. Wearing sun protection and a pair of good-quality goggles is also advisable and skiers should aim to wear a high SPF lotion at all times. Other tips include investing in ski lessons, staying safe off-piste and following instructions and directions at all times. In related news, the Association of British Insurers recently warned those going on ski holidays to take out a specialist insurance policy, rather than "bog standard" cover.
