Staying Calm For Your Ccent Exam
This might sound weird as a way to prepare for your exam, but exercise is actually the best way to get rid of stress. I'm not saying you should go all out and kill yourself in a workout, especially if you haven't been working out all that much because you have been so busy studying. But going for a quick 20 to 30 minute run or maybe lifting weights for half an hour can be a great way to calm your nerves. Don't believe me? Try it for yourself, it's only 20 minutes anyways. I'm also not saying that you should workout the day of your exam, but at least take some time the day before when you are probably most nervous. Now that you have taken some time to get some fresh air I want you to turn off the computer and close any books that you may have open. Also make sure you are to get rid of any other distractions by find a quite place to sit with no tv or cell phone to steal your attention. Now just sit for 15 to 30 minutes and reflect about everything you have studied up to this point. Don't worry about if you still don't know something, make a mental note of it and move on. Just pause and reflect. This is to just get your brain warmed up and ready for the next task. Still with no computer or any other distraction around you, start writing. Don't think about anything else but your exam. Just write. Make lists. Connect items with arrows. Draw boxes. Underline words. keep writing. You should have a full page by now. Write on another page if you need room now, but keep writing. As you fill up another page are you noticing any topics that maybe you don't know that much about? If you do you now know which topic you should spend some more time studying. Repeat this process several times to make sure you really know everything that will be on the exam. Just the process of writing without looking at any notes can really help you retain the things you are learning. And since you are in this habit of recalling information you will also be able to remember things quickly while you are taking the exam.
