The very first thing you should probably do is to chew proof your house, at least until its unacceptable chewing behavior is corrected. This is probably common sense. If your dog likes to chew on your shoes, then you obviously should not leave your shoes lying around.

There are many possible reasons why your dog is chewing everything up in your house. Some possible reasons include but are not limited to it simply being bored, being too anxious, trying to relieve gum pain, being hungry or lonely.
Of course, it might not be easy for you to pinpoint the exact reason why your dog is chewing in the first place. But regardless of whether you can find out the correct reasons, you will still want to stop your dog from chewing.
