Stop Name Dropping Your Email Address, Just Say Private

This is an article you should consider, if you want to enjoy the benefits of the world wide web, and the convenience of email, no matter what country you reside in, it does not mean that the email you get for soliciting you to buy the best hand soap ever invented, is an email from someone in your country, it very well may not be, and this article is written to alert you to the things we take for granted, and that is that you are inviting strangers into your space, your home and into your brain, once you read it, you retain it. Unlike the awesome caller id, that only shows a name and phone number, so far they do not show a text message on your home phone with advertisements, I do not think they have thought about this possibility yet.

Will the trash folder in your email be considered as garbage left on the curb, in a court of law? Never say anything in an email when you are mad, not even to a close friend or family member, pick up the phone and call. Do you really want to know how many times your email could be forwarded and forwarded again? Likely there are little snippets or caches of things that you have emailed someone in the search engines that will always be accessible, at least forever, maybe.

Remember to keep your profile private in blogs, and if you are sharing pictures of your children, be especially protective of your website.

Most physical stores are now requesting that you provide your email address as well as your phone number, just say private when they ask for your phone number or email address and the cashier will just type in a bunch of zeros. Do you really need to get emails from these stores routinely? Big no, you do not want any uninvited guest in your home via the internet and that is what you will get if you name drop your email address, intruders! The stores have to love this type of promotional advertising, because they do not have to print the expensive brochures or pay for the postage.

When shopping online, check the websites privacy policy and do not submit your address to a website that won't protect it. Never respond to spam, and never open a link that you received in an email as spam muggers can forge headers, so that you may think you are returning to the actual site, when in reality it is a fake site that is trying to get information from you, answer their queries and boom, there you go, you gave them all of the information they needed to steal your identity or your cash. If you accidentally do visit a site through a link in your email, change all of your passwords right away, and contact your bank and the site that you think was compromised to let them know also. Always type in the URL of the website that you want to visit, and remember to never click a link in your email, even though they use scare tactics such as, example: Your account will be suspended for this or that, so what!

Email is a great tool for communication, and the internet is an awesome way to shop for anything, but just like muggers at the shopping centers that are trying to steal your credit card information, there are plenty of sophisticated technical muggers that can and do snatch your information via the keyboard instead of running away with your purse or wallet.
