Stop Panic Attacks Effectively By Means Of Understanding What Fear Is

Anxiety is a normal sensation experienced by someone every once in a while in her or his life. Anxiety experience differs from one experience to another and it takes place when the ego is threatened. In simple terms, it is fear of the unknown. There are several levels of anxiety ranging from mild, moderate, severe to panic. Management interventions and signs and indications differ for each level. Mild is the first level of anxiety. The person with slight anxiety still has intact crisis solving skills. Signs and symptoms include fidgeting, agitation, hypersensitivity and GI problems. Management is done to help the anxious person in tolerating the dread which will in the end lead to solving whichever existing problem.

The subsequent level is moderate apprehension which includes muscle tension, headaches, diaphoresis and hasty speech as its symptoms. The objective of management is to reduce the fear and in the end understanding the reason and identifying potential ways to control it. Severe level would be the 3rd level of anxiety that renders anyone feelings of dread and horror. Signs and symptoms include severe headache, chest pain, pallor, excessive crying. Interventions must be focused on reducing the fear to moderate or mild. The most critical form is Panic level of anxiety. The person, normally, has a distorted conception and can’t handle stimuli. Becoming mute or immobile, increased pulse rate and blood pressure are only some of the physical signs and symptoms experienced by the person in panic. The person in panic possibly will experience any of the three: fight, escape and freeze. A supportive approach should be performed to manage anyone in panic.

If an individual is in a panic mode, you should make yourself available for the person and assurance of never leaving the individual needs to be made. A calm atmosphere should be achieved and stressors have to be limited. If hyperventilation is experienced, make available a brown bag to facilitate return of regular breathing. Let the individual shout, sob or pace to allow expression of feelings. Avoid being touchy as it possibly will worsen the situation. These are simple yet effective ways in dealing and stopping an anxiety attack.
