Stress Relief For Christians - Special Options!
All of us have stress. There is good stress (starting school, getting married, having a baby..) and there is bad stress (car accident, poor health, death of a loved one). We can't avoid stress - nor should we want to. Our bodies need stress to keep them going - the stress can help us to take action. But we can minimize our negative stress, and we can find positive ways to deal with our good stress. Christians need stress relief just like everyone else. Let's take a look at some great options for stress relief for Christians. Prayer - Talking To Your Maker Most Christians find relief from stress through prayer. Sometimes you may be thanking Him that things are not worse, sometimes you may be complaining to Him for how they are, but having Him to talk to about your troubles can truly help. Attend Church - Be In His House Christians under stress find relief in being in the most sacred of places, where they can feel of His spirit and inspiration. Attending church is a good way to increase your spirituality. Count Your Blessings A great tool for stress relief for Christians is to remember to give thanks to God for their blessings. Everything we have has come from Him - our good looks, our great wealth, our smart children.whatever. He's given us everything - and we can thank Him and praise Him for the things we have. Usually, listing the blessings we have (even physically, on a paper, so we can see them) will help us forget our troubles - or at least keep them in perspective. Be Of Service To Others One thing Christians can use for stress relief is to help others. Somehow, helping others can lessen the amount of time we spent worrying about our own issues. Getting outside ourselves helps us cope with our own stress, finding relief in a Christian way. Keep An Eternal Perspective An important thing to remember when going through a lot of stress is that this life is a small portion of eternity. After we successfully complete this life staying close to God, then we can be with Him for eternity. Remember Job from the Bible. Though his challenges were great, he struggled, as we all would, but ultimately he stayed true to the Lord and kept his faith intact. He knew that God would take care of him in the end. In Job, 19: 25 it states: For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he stall stand at the latter day upon the earth; and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God. Christ suffered all for us - He knows what we are going through. That can help us cope with the struggles we have.
