When you think of summer, what comes to mind?

Summer 2008 sees the return of safari inspired outfits. Not exactly what you might wear on a safari. For the real deal, cotton and linen are likelier choices, unless you are a multi-million dollar movie star with an entourage which will iron your impeccable silk dress for you before every wear.
Still, the look is there, though the fabrics may differ. Today's safari clothes may well be made of chiffon, silk or satin. Stuff you wouldn't wear out in the wild, but within the confines of civilization, outfits made of these materials are sensuous, glamorous and worth all the trouble.
No longer stiff. This seasons safari jackets and shirts are a lot softer, especially around the shoulders. Shirt dresses are a great, light-weight alternative to the safari jacket and the look can be just as outdoorsy.
Safari style isn't limited to the cut of the clothes. Color plays an important part. Earth tones characterize the safari look. Khaki is a hot favourite. Pair that with yellow, white and earth tones and even a tube top and skorts combination or a shirt and pants combi screams SAFARI!
Another thing you can do to channel the safari look is to bring in animal print. Leopard print is especially sexy and appropriate for the safari style.
That said, you basically need just 4 new items to revamp your look, safari style.
1. A safari jacket you can throw over any outfit to give it that safari look. Pick one in silk, satin, or any soft material. The shoulders should be soft and not angular. Think soft. A feminine version of the old safari jacket if you will.
2. A shirt dress - very safari style. Ideally one with buttons from collar to hem.
3. Khaki tops and pants.
4. Leopard print tops, dresses or bikinis for sexier moments.
That would take you effortlessly through summer 2008.
