Sun Set Cruise Aboard Sweetwaters In Richards Bay
The sun is setting, we sail past the yachts and fishing boats moored in the harbour, local fishermen wave as we go by, and time stands still. We have no where we have to be, we have nothing we have to do….these moments are for us alone. It is our time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. We explore the various sections of the harbour, alternating between engine and wind power. We look out for the resident dolphins and visiting hippo. As the sun sinks, it starts to get chilly. Izak and Nicki are perfect hosts, offering a blanket which we chose rather than going below deck. The sail is up and we gently glide through the water. The sky is black, the moon is bright. The wind is cool. The coal terminal is lit up like a city, a lone star twinkles as it watches us sail by. As we head back to the small craft harbour, we watch patrons in the restaurants and pubs, lights dance on the water and we return to reality. What an amazing experience, I am so glad that I had an opportunity to see a different perspective to the harbour that we all think we know!
