Foreign T – Shirts, not found in Australia are becoming more popular than ever before. With celebrities fashion influence all over the world, many of the clothes they wear are worn by their fans, the problem, however, is that many of these clothes are extremely exclusive and are not available in Australia to buy. If these exclusive T Shirts are found in Australia, they are usually sold at a significantly higher price because of the handling and shipping fees. The mean reason for the jump in price is that supply often does not meet the demand therefore, is a shortage and can be sold at a much higher price and people would still buy the T Shirts.
In Australia, more recently European exclusive brands have become very popular. In particular, Lambretta, the Italian make, BC London and Peter Werth are becoming very popular. These T Shirts however, are sold at a very high price when one shops in your local high street. When one looks at shopping online via the internet for T Shirts it is very clear to see that there is a significant price different in comparison, to high street stores.
With a larger demand online because of a global consumer market, Australians can buy T Shirts at a much lower rate. Think of it like this, an Australian high street store can only sell to the surrounding area, and to the people who make the effort to drive from far away just to shop at that store. Whilst Australian online stores can sell to the whole of Australia and can send their T Shirts via the post so consumers do not need to travel from far away to buy the exclusive T Shirts they need. From this example it is clear to see that by using websites, online sellers have a much larger catchment area when compared to high street stores.
With a larger catchment area for online stores, sellers increase their sales. In regards to many T Shirt stores, because they are selling just T Shirts they buy more T shirts in bulk then a high street shop, which would sell more than just T shirts. As larger bulks of T shirts are being bought, sellers buy clothes at a discounted rate, which means that they can now sell at a lower rate. This is a major benefit as shoppers can now buy exclusive foreign clothes that were previously sold at a very high rate for a lower price online. Furthermore buy shopping online you can even buy directly from the country, where the brand is from, which would cut out the middle man i.e. the high street store. This means you would get the brand at a lower rather than in your high street.
From this, it is possible to see that by shopping online for foreign exclusive brands, it is financially beneficial because you can buy many exclusive brands at a knock off price when compared to your high street.
