Take A Combined Approach To Increase Targeted Website Traffic

Regarding online marketing, most Internet marketers make one of two mammoth mistakes. They either don't diversify enough, or they become involved too many different activities they fail to engage in for the long haul. If you make either one of these mistakes, your business is risk for failure. In either case, you won't be able to reliably generate the guaranteed website traffic your business needs to succeed online.

Why does it matter whether you "mix up" or diversify the online marketing strategies you use? Think of relying on only one or two marketing techniques as putting all your eggs in a single basket. It's a risky way to approach trying to increase web site generate sales, to say the least. What if the only marketing strategy you're using some day stops bringing in targeted web site traffic? It's possible the drop in traffic could kill your Internet business as it kills your web site's traffic.

There's a second problem with neglecting to diversify your marketing strategies on the Internet. You miss out on a whole host of ways to potentially reach more people in your targeted market.

Say you choose to focus on article marketing and not much else. Maybe some people in your targeted market read articles online, but do they all? Do even most of them? Probably not.

What about members of your target market who would gladly read and respond to an ad on Facebook, or those who respond best to promotional they receive in emails? What about the ones spending hours at a time on social networking sites?

The more you limit the types of marketing activities you invest in, the less likely it is you'll reach as as much of your target market as possible.

Neglecting to diversify online marketing activities may be bad, but failing to follow through with any activities at all is actually worse.

The thing nearly all marketing strategies have in common is that they take time to work, and that demands patience. If you join a safe list group, send out two emails a week for two weeks and then move on to something else, you're wasting your time and effort. The same is true if you write two or three articles and submit them to article directories and then give up.

No matter what Internet marketing strategy you utilize, commit to giving it three or four months of consistent effort before you evaluate its effectiveness. This is the bare minimum amount of time it takes to see meaningful results, including an increase in website traffic and more sales.

You must diversify your Internet marketing in another way to generate guaranteed web site traffic long term. Utilize both paid and free marketing opportunities. One way to decide which marketing activities to pay for is to take advantage of free trial offers or versions first, then see what sort of a response you get.

Say you join a safe list site and after a couple of months as a free member, your have decent response rates. Why not go for the upgrade and get even better results? If free safe list marketing is good, going for a paid membership is likely to bring you even better results, including an increase in web site traffic and more sales.
