Termed The ‘weekend Pill’ - Cialis Tadalafil Is Long Lasting

About Cialis

Cialis is approved for the treatment of men who experience difficulty achieving and maintaining an erection. It is different from other currently approved products for ED in that it stays in the body longer.

The primary ingredient, Tadalafil in Cialis is a selective inhibitor of PDE5. The effect of Cialis is more potent on PDE5 than on other phosphodiesterases.

Tadalafil’s (Cialis) pharmacologic distinction is its longer half-life (17.50 hours) as compared to Viagra’s (4–5 hours) and Levitra’s (4–5 hours). This results in longer duration of action, and so is partly responsible for “The Weekend Pill” sobriquet.

Cialis is taken orally before sexual activity, not more than once daily. Cialis may be taken with or without food. In some patients, the dose strength and maximum frequency of use may be adjusted. In some men, 36-hour Cialis works in as little as 30 minutes and can also work for up to 36 hours afterwards.

Cialis is convenient to take and you do not have to plan around meals because the absorption of Cialis is not affected by food. That means you can eat and drink what you want. But do not drink alcohol in excess when taking Cialis as that can increase your chances of:

Headache
Dizziness
Drop in blood pressure
Increased heart rate

Side effects reported with Cialis were generally mild or moderate, transient, and decreased with continued dosing. There may be additional unreported Cialis side effects.

The following Cialis side effects have been reported:

Headache
Dyspepsia
Back pain
Myalgia
Nasal congestion
Flushing

Since PDE5 inhibitors such as Tadalafil may cause transiently low blood pressure (hypotension), organic nitrates should not be taken for at least 48 hours after taking the last dose of Tadalafil. Using organic nitrites like amyl nitrite within this timeframe may increase the risk of life-threatening hypotension.

Who can take Cialis?

In order to get an erection upon taking Cialis, sexual stimulation is needed for the drug to work. Taken before sexual activity, Cialis helps to increase blood flow to the penis when a man is sexually aroused. And when sexual activity ends, your erection will go away.

Cialis: Improves the ability to maintain erections for successful sexual intercourse, gives hard erections, as well as the confidence in the ability to achieve and maintain erections.

Cialis is clinically proven to improve erectile dysfunction in most men. It can be taken by:

Men of all ages
Men with mild, moderate, and even severe erectile dysfunction
Men with ED who have other medical conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension
