The Al Bastakia Experience

Al Bastakia is one of the oldest residential areas in the city of Dubai and is famous for its heritage. While sailing on a dhow cruise, you will float by a place called 'Bastakia' on the Bur side of the Dubai creek.

The Bastakiya district is a marvelous experience as it takes you a step back in time. It is loaded with traditional courtyard houses, bedecked with wind towers and has been earmarked for tourist development, with the construction of a museum, cultural centre and an art gallery that showcases local talent.
Al Bastakia is emerging as the new retail and cultural destination of Dubai.
Bastakia has a street market that is open only on Saturdays where regional art, crafts, fashion jewellery and accessories are available. The place is brimming with amusement too… The entertainment can range from a musical performance by Dubai Drums to painting workshops in the breezy streets of Bastakia.
