The Aura, An Introduction To The Human Energy Field
The energy that produces our aura starts internally and externally. From the inside, it's created by our vibrating cells which create a powerful flow of electromagetic energy that radiates outwards. From the outside, the universe creates energy which our bodies collect. The point where our aura joins the universal power is not unchanging but in a endless flow of give and take. When the aura is strong, our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing is powerful. When the aura is weak or damaged, our health is reduced. Chakras The interaction between our auras plus the universal energy is also effected by our chakras. The 7 main chakras: Root tail of spine Sacral Tan T'ien Solar Plexus navel Heart heart Throat throat/neck Third Eye middle of forehead Crown top of head The word Chakra means 'spinning wheels' As our chakras spin, they also make energy that deals directly with our auras. When we are in good physical shape, our chakras turn freely, producing an abundant supply of energy. When we aren't fit, our chakras decelerate, no longer feeding energy to ourselves. In intense cases, they may turn backwards and actually drain the energy from us. History People have been seeing auras throughout the past. Throughout the sixteenth century, the aura was referred to as the astral body. During the eighteenth century, Anton Mesmer, although he didn't discover hypnotism like some have written, he did build a theory of animal magnetism and administered a mixture of scientific experiments to try to spot this phenomenon. He also believed in a fluid-like, physic ether that reacted to the movements of our astral bodies. Then, early in the 20th century, Dr. Walter Kilner from St Thomas Hospital in London invented a machine to view auras. He used ultraviolet light to illuminate a faint haze around the body. His experiments to use the machine to diagnose illness was cut short as a result of start of World War I. Edgar Cayce, who is considered by many to be the "father of holistic medicine," was also capable of seeing auras and he used this gift when he worked with his clients. He learned to interpret their shape, size and color. He dedicated what turned out to be the final year of his life writing the state-of-the-art reference book about auras together with his colleague Thomas Sugrue. Unluckily, Cayce died before the manuscript could be completed. Instead of an extensive reference book, a twenty page white paper was published entitled Auras: An Essay on the Meaning of Colors. Fortunately, the excellent data in that pamphet makes up for it's diminutive extent. It remains a popular reference guide to this day. Seeing Auras Being able to see and feel auras is an important part of energy healing. For example, I had a client who was experiencing a persistent cough. She had gone to a medical doctor, had an x-ray, but they couldn't find the cause of the cough. She then came to me for a Reiki session. About 15 minutes into the healing session, I found that her aura had a large tear in it, right above her chest. I used Reiki to patch up the hole in her aura and from then on, her cough was gone. It's not difficult to learn to see auras. With a bit of practice, you will be able to rapidly see the faint, blue-gray layer that radiates outward about ½ inch off the surface of our skin. Then, as you practice and cultivate your abilities, you will be able to see the aura extending 3-4 feet beyond the body.
