The Benefits Of Medical Equipment Leasing Or Buying It Used

For the high price we pay for medical insurance and doctors' bills, it would make sense to think that these hospitals and clinics must have millions of dollars stashed away somewhere. What else do they do with all that money? These institutions charge such high prices for their services, we feel it is outrageous. What we do not know, however, is how much it actually costs to run a hospital. If you consider all the personnel, medical equipment, and electricity is takes to run a medium to large medical facility, you may then understand why a trip to the emergency room is so expensive.

Medical machines are incredibly important instruments for diagnoses and treatments. This advanced technology, however, does come with a high price tag. In order to serve their patients to the best of their ability, however, hospitals and medical clinics need these machines. The information these machines provide about ailing patients helps save thousands of lives every year. One of the most useful machines is a magnetic resonance imaging machine (MRI). After one factors in the cost of the machine itself, consultation, delivery, installation, and training fees, one MRI machine costs nearly one million dollars. Most clinics cannot afford to spend that amount of money on one machine! In order to purchase the machines they need, hospitals and clinics either opt for medical equipment leasing or they purchase used medical equipment.

Purchasing used medical equipment is a great option because these machines, even though they are a few years old, usually work as good as new. After a hospital or medical clinic closes down, it would be a waste to throw out all the perfectly useful equipment. Instead, technicians inspect each machine and make all the necessary repairs. These machines often have many more years of life in them and they are back in tip-top shape.

The second option is medical equipment leasing. This method allows a clinic to lease a brand new machine for a set period of time. Many people enjoy this option because it allows them to have new equipment but they do not need to pay for many of the standard fees. Instead, they only pay for the expected loss of value on the equipment over the lease term. At the end of the lease, the machine can be purchased for a much lower price so it might now be affordable!
