The Best Back Pain Relief May Be A Mattress

The best back pain relief may be as simple as replacing your current mattress.

Some people wake up with back pain everyday. They think it's normal and they just put up with it. They don't ever think to ask themselves what's causing it.

The reason for "sleep induced" back pain is most likely because you aren't getting the support you need.

There's a test you can do, with any mattress, to gsuge the amount of support it's giving you in the small of your back.

Lie down on the bed, on your back. Just lie there for a couple of minutes and get relaxed.

Without raising any portion of your body, simply reach down and try to slide your hand between the mattress and the small of your back.

The easier you can slide your hand beneath your back, the less support the mattress is giving you.

This test applies to new mattresses as well as old ones, so you can use this test when shopping in a mattress store.

There used to be an old wives tale about the harder the mattress, the better support for your back.

That theory has been debunked recently by the medical community.
Lying on a flat rock wouldn't be a cure for back problems so why would a slate hard mattress be any better?

You might be saying to yourself, "then maybe I should get a cushy pillow top that I can just sink down into."

I'm sorry to say that the fluffy pillow top mattress isn't the answer either.
A mattress that's too soft will tend to "hammock" in the area of your lower back. Hammocking is when your back is curved outward instead of the natural inward curve at the base of your spine.

You need support in your lower back without the rigid feeling of lying on the floor. Your mattress is meant to be soft enough to allow you the comfort you need for a good night's sleep. What people are seeking in a firm mattress is, actually, just better support.

That's where the superior design, of the iCoil system, comes so nicely to the rescue.

The technology that's been developed with iCoil is specifically designed to prevent small back pain. You'll get the support you're looking for without having to sleep on a rock.

The coils are individually encased so they are independent of each other. This means you won't get bounced out of bed by the flip-flopping of a restless sleep partner.

The coils are, also, much smaller than the normal "Bonnell Springs" found in other, cheaply made mattresses.

As a result, they can conform, easily, to the small of your back and lend the needed support to give you the best back pain relief available.

As with any mattress purchase, you will want to do your homework and spend some time lying on different types and makes of mattress.

A good night's sleep will do wonders for your outlook as well as your back.
