The Best Of True Blood On Satellite Tv

Vampires are back with a vengeance. In case you’ve been living under some rock in the corner of Madagascar, you’ve no doubt noticed that vampires are all over the place. These glamorous creatures of the night, who look so damnably HD fine in the blackest of leathers, are sinking their teeth into the heart of popular culture, making girls swoon and sway. On the big screen, you’ve got the whole Twilight mayhem, which has made fan girls and fan boys (but mostly girls) go wild over team Edward and team Bella. Of course, there are those who would say that Edward Cullen is no real vampire.

Sparkle vamps don’t make the cut. These people would probably be more keen on the vamps of Being Human or perhaps even the Vampire Diaries. But, without doubt, the true darling of the moment is the luscious, bloody and lusty HBO series True Blood. Shot in HD and filled with guts, vampire human loving and a crazy, heart hungry maenad, True Blood has become the hottest vamp show in town. Here’s a look at some of this season’s top moments.

In the very first episode of True Blood’s sophomore season, entitled ‘Nothing But the Blood’, we learn that the once sassy Lafayette is now imprisoned in a sordid prison. Shirtless, and without his usual eye makeup, this Lafayette is definitely not the man we once knew. Eric’s cruel punishment definitely has a long lasting effect.

In episode two, ‘Keep this Party Going’ Sookie makes the mistake of taking the just turned vampire Jessica to her parent’s home. Things get ugly as the red haired vamp turns on her parents and tries to kill her father. Blood sports for teenaged vampires who’ve got axes to grind.

In episode three of satellite TV show True Blood, Sookie is attacked by some ‘bull-man’ leaving her some nasty scratches on her back. A dwarfish doctor specializing in the supernatural is called in to help Sookie heal.

In episode four, ‘Shake and Fingerpop’ newcomer Maryann starts her first orgy. She stirs up everyone’s animal instincts and things get pretty hot and heavy. Maryann turns into an odd beast herself, leaving viewers wondering just who or what she was.

Episode six, ‘Hard Hearted Hannah’ sees Sookie trapped in the Light of Day Institute basement. But the most memorable moment of that episode was perhaps Vampire Bill tickling the ivories sometime in the roaring twenties.

In episode seven, entitled ‘Never Let Me Go’ we see Eric’s roots. In a great flashback sequence, we finally get to see Eric and Godric’s connection. It sheds light on vampire maker relationships and sets up a nice dichotomy and some potential for friction later on.

I Will Rise Up is the title of the ninth episode of the season. The most interesting scenes in here were definitely the roof top death scenes. Eric pleading with his maker not to die, while Godric is keener than ever to meet the sun. Although the effects aren’t so great, especially in HD, the scene is quite touching nonetheless.
