The Born Again Christian Movement
The Born Again Christian Movement can be rooted back when Roman Catholicism was branching into different divisions of the religion (i.e. Paganism, Orthodox). The religions understood the term “born again” as the term for spiritual rebirth. They’ve cited this claim from the Bible, when Jesus Christ was baptized by John as depicted in the Gospel of John. This symbolized that Jesus was born once again. Many Christians see this as the central symbol of their religion. The “born again” term has also been cited as a conversion of sorts to a new spiritual concept in one’s life. With this in mind, you can see that born again has meant that you are now converting yourself to a more spiritual oneness with Jesus Christ. Since the Born Again Christian Movement dates back to the time when Jesus was baptized, it already gives out the central idea that Christians are already living more positive lives than they had before they were born again. The movement was moving along in the 1800s, somewhere in the countries of USA and Great Britain. No one can pinpoint the beginning or who to claim the starter because it’s still a fuzzy history on where it began. But the movement took place back in 1906 when an impaired preacher named William Seymour did something that would capture the world by storm. Because of what he did, he established the Pentecostal church which now consists of a quarter of all worldwide Christians. From here on out, the Born Again Christian Movement was going along. A lot of people say that Born Again Christians are given spiritual gifts after their conversion. They are given the gift to heal the sick or the gift to speak in foreign languages without any prior knowledge to it. While some say it’s nothing but gibberish, some have truly said that these gifts are real. No one can tell so but if it were to believed, then people who are Born Again have been blessed by Christ himself and finally given a chance to make their lives worth it. And so that’s what the Born Again Christian is all about. While it’s still getting dispute by other religion branches related to the Bible, it can’t be denied that a lot of positive things have come out from the movement. From the gifts of God to the new enlightenment gained, you now at least know what it means to be a Born Again Christian.
