The Bothersome Syphilis

Syphilis, all through history, has plagued mankind from the low ranks in society to high courts in royal houses. Individuals back then were ignorant of what Syphilis is and what it can do to their wellness. This ignorance brought on additional problem that some resulted in death, and to some point, a fall in society.

Syphilis carries a long and bloody history. But despite the fact that how well-informedpeople of today compare to men and women of the past, some are still oblivious of the the signs of Syphilis. Here are the signs a person may have this disease.

Syphilis has different stages. The first stage, or Primary Syphilis, occurs as a formation of an ulcer or chancre. The chancre evolves 10 to 90 days following the infection has settled into the human body. This disease is brought on by a bacteria called spirochetes and it is extremely contagious when the ulcer is present.

Contact with the ulcer transmits the bacteria and disease. Transmission happens in the form of skin contact, shared items or sexual intercourse. Ulcer inside the mouth can easily distribute the disease by mere kissing. Though the ulcer might go away without treatment following three to six weeks, the illness can recur months later on as secondary syphilis if the primary stage is not dealt with.

Secondary Syphilis grows several weeks or months after the first stage and it lastsfour to six weeks. Secondary Syphilis can affect organ systems of the body, and the individual infected normally experiences other different symptoms.

Symptoms include the development of un-itchy rash appearing on the palms of the hands or the bottoms of the feet. Transmission can be as simple as skin contact. An individual may also experience balding, sore throat, white patches near the nose, mouth and vagina, fever, and headaches. There can be lesions on the genitals. And much like the to skin rash, these wart-like-lesions are remarkably infectious.

Like several other conditions, if left undiagnosed and untreated, Syphilis can lead to permanent health impairment. And unlike individuals of past, we people of the present are now more knowledgable and well-informed about our body health.
