The Cateye Hl-el530 Bike Light Is A Great Help When Commuting To Work Early In The Morning

While cycling to work in many countries of the world is a normal thing, here in North America it isn’t all that common. Because of that we don’t always know how to do it safely. In countries where people regularly ride their bike to work the bikes are often sold with lights and other safety features on them. Here we need to go out and buy a light like the CatEye hl-el530 head light and an appropriate tail light to be safe while we are riding.

In countries such as Japan, Denmark, France or Holland the bicycle is a valued utility vehicle for commuting. Bikes there are often sold with not only lights but fenders, chain guards, racks and kickstands all of which are very important to the commuter.

A lot of people may realize that riding a bike instead of driving a car has many benefits. Some of them are saving you money on gas, creating less congestion on the road and its greener (less noise, smells and pollution caused by the internal combustion engine).
Commuting on a bike also offers pleasure, can reduce stress, improve your cardiovascular fitness companionship and save time by combining your workout with your commuting. Beyond all that riding makes you feel good and is fun.

The problem is how do you stay safe while traveling on the road with so many cars not respecting your space? This is a very real problem but bike light can really help. It is often a good idea to use them night or day as they make sure the drivers know you are there and I have found they respect your space better than when you don’t use them. I am not sure why, whether it is because they are more aware of your presents or because their brains are alerted to you being there. Never the less it seems to work.
One of the lights I like to use is the CatEye hl-el530. Using it in flashing mode is eye catching and the batteries last a long time.

Most any bike will work for commuting. Mountain bikes hybrids and road bikes are most commonly used but even cruiser bike can be used. I think the mountain or hybrid bikes are the best for year round usage because their tires work best on wet or snowy roads. Another consideration is how far you will have to ride it each day. The most important thing though is to get one that is comfortable for you to ride on. And secondly make sure you have some good lights on it.

It is important to make sure you’re visible when you are riding. So along with good bike lights wear reflective bands on your legs and arms as the motion causes them to attract more attention that way. Also wear light or bright colored clothing. There is nothing worse than a bike rider wearing dark colored clothes on a dark night when you are driving a car.

Commuting to work can be fun and save you money but what I wish is for all riders to ride safe and enjoy their ride and with some common sense and some for thought you can do that.
