The Different Incarnations Of Megatron
In Generation 1 Megatron was a giant robot who transformed into a human size hand gun. When transformed Megatron would be used by Soundwave or Starscream. This doesn't make a whole lot of sense so it was changed for the live action movies. It did however mean that the Megatron G1 toy was pretty awesome as you had a hand gun and a robot. In the 2007 live action movie Transformers megatron was only seen late into the movie. He was much bigger in the movie than the cartoon and stood at over 40 feet high. In the film Megatron transforms into a Cybertronian jet which means he can get around niftily. He obviously doesn't feel the need to hide or blend in as he's Megatron. In the sequel he is modified by the Doctor when he is revived at the bottom of the ocean. In Revenge of the Fallen he transforms into a cybertronian tank and spacecraft. Still no hiding for Megatron. In the third movie Dark of the Moon he has given in a bit and decided to transform into a mean looking truck instead. In the Transformers animated movie Megatron gets brought to the brink of death from his fight with Optimus Prime. On their way back to Cybertron Starscream decides it's time to gain command over the Decepticons by throwing Megatron out into space. Megatron is found by the planet eating Unicron who turn him into Galvatron and gives him a snazzy new purple paint job. First thing on Galvatrons to do list was to take back control of the Decepticons and kill Starscream. Something that Megatron never bothered to do for some reason. In the Armada cartoon series as well as the Generation 2 toy Megatron turned into a tank. I suppose that's the next logical step for a character who has a giant gun on his arm. He also had huge purple ear like things which looked pretty odd. The Armada Megatron also becomes Galvatron at one point in the series.
