The Doggie Door: Your Best Friend's Best Friend

For people who have a dog, installing a doggie door that leads to the backyard is one of the most practical things they can do for themselves and their pets. Despite the common misconception, for those who have a sliding glass doors, there are some types of doggie doors that can be installed on them. There are two types of doors that can be put into a sliding glass door which do not decrease the security in these doors and allows their pets the access that they need to the yard.
Types of Doggie Doors
Doggie doors that can be installed on glass doors are the panel door and the door within a door. The first type is a door that measure the same as the sliding door, and while it reduces the space that people have to get out, it works as a normal doggie door otherwise.
The second type requires a hole to be cut in the glass door in order to install the doggie door.
There are also automatic slider doggie doors that can be put in place. These doors are better suited for large dogs because they open completely whenever the dog goes through them, giving them more space. However, the most common type of doggie door installed in regular wooden doors is the flap door, which has to be pushed open by the dog and can be opened both ways.
There are many other types of doors that can be found on the market today, such as the sash doors, window mounts, and door mounts. With so many options available in the market, a dog owner should have no problem finding the doggie door that adapts to his or her needs and budget, and for his or her dog too, of course.
