The Future Of Health Insurance
The sad truth is that there are other blocking factors other than financial issues that is stopping many American's from the care they need, it is health as well. The health insurance companies for the most part currently hold the final say in who is eligible for health insurance based on many things such as health history and lifestyle choices. The new proposed health care plan is slated as the change agent for this issue over time and that health care will be available to everyone regardless of the health issues and problems they are experiencing. However, the equality of the premiums are a whole different issue that will have to be addressed. The United States health insurance industry is profit driven, which means it is considered to be a business, requiring a profit to stay in business. In the insurance game being played, if a person who has insurance actually gets sick, this means the treating medical professional and facility will file a claim and to the insurance company this is bad business, because the claim is depleting the profits of the business. This is very unfair, but sadly business as usual. Equipped with these facts and information, it is understandable why the entire insurance industry is viewed as a numbers game. To stay in business there has to be a profit, no one would disagree with this reasoning, however when a claim is generated, this results in a rise in health insurance costs. Very little is being done to bring this arrangement into balance or check to help lower the costs in the medical community allowing for the increases to continue every day. Without a ceiling to gage growth by, the whole industry could topple by the sheer weight of such a system. Unfortunately, the only way to gain control over the industry for insurance companies is to deny, deny, deny and this is not good for business. Health insurance needs to be taken out of the private business sector and become a government system that doesn't turn a profit. In the long run this is the only way that health insurance will remain in existence throughout the United States. It is time that people stopped profiting off of other people's suffering and therefore it is time to turn the insurance industry back over to the people.
