The Future Of The Mobile Phone Market
One trend that we see is that GPS systems are soon going to be margined. There will always be a market for these devices, but there will be less need for them in the future. Mobile phones now have GPS systems which are built in and for a monthly fee can act as a true GPS system, allowing people to get where they need without the use of maps or asking for directions. In addition, the mobile phone is and will continue to act not just as a mobile phone but as a media centre where phone calls can be made, music can be listened to, and of course, GPS is used. Battery life is another area where the future holds great promise. One major issue now is that mobile phone users want and demand the ability to have more battery life. As mobile phones get more complicated in nature, they are even more battery heavy and draining. This is one area where the mobile phone likely will change a lot over the next few years. There is testing going in Japan here in the near future which could lead to a breakthrough in battery technology. One thing that is certain is that there is very likely to be inventions made on the mobile phone that are not even considered right now. If the next 10 years are as productive as the past 10 years in mobile phones, then we should have a lot of breakthrough coming up on the horizon.
