The Glee Phenomenon

To say that “Glee” is the latest rage on television would be understatement. This show has managed to capture the imagination of people around the world, regardless of their age and gender. However, the largest demographic for this show, belongs in the sixteen to forty age group. In a nut shell, “Glee” is a television show which comes under the musical genre. The backdrop of the show is the life of high school students. Therefore, most of the characters in it are roughly high school age, except of course for the characters playing the teachers. One sign of the immense popularity of this show is the fact that even stars from other shows and films, do guest appearances. Serious fans of this show are called “Gleeks”. Presently, Glee season 2 is showing. In short, “Glee” is truly a phenomenon.

There are also other ways in which a television shows popularity can be rated. And that would be the amount of merchandise based on the show gets sold. “Glee” merchandise is selling like hot cakes, and the producers of the show are having a hard time keeping up with demand. The merchandise includes CDs, DVDs, games and of course clothes. Games based on “Glee” are divided into three different categories. They are Glee board games, karaoke games and online games. The karaoke version of this show is called Glee Karaoke Revolution. As the name suggests it will allow fans to sing along with their favorite songs from the show. At present only the first season has been released, and there are total of 30 songs to choose from, more than enough to sing to your hearts content.

Apart from a lot of songs to choose from, Glee Karaoke Revolution offers scenes which were not included in the show. It is sort of a “Directors cut” version of the popular episodes. This game also has multiplayer capability, allowing up to six players at a time. If you would like to seriously increase your “Gleek” quotient, then it is time to have a look at online based Glee games. There are a lot of web sites which offer trivia games based on the show. Each one will have its own format and rules. The goal of some of these games is to find out how similar you are with the characters. There are even Glee dress-up up websites. Glee Board games are for those of you who are not into singing and dancing. The game comes with two hundred cards. It will quiz players on their knowledge of the shows. Glee DVD’s of season 1 are available at most retail stores. It includes deleted scenes and interviews with stars.
